Schools as Ambassadors of the 53 UEFA-Countries
Which is the smallest country in Europe? Where exactly is Uppsala? And why do 26 ethnic groups call Georgia home? In the international EUROSCHOOLS 2008 project, pupils from schools in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein are set to become experts on Europe! And not only that - for an entire year, they will be ambassadors for the 53 UEFA countries and of fair play. Both on and off the pitch.
International communication, tolerance and Fair Play are central for the official project of the UEFA EURO 2008TM. Numerous schools in Switzerland, Austria and in Liechtenstein are actively getting prepared for this spectacular occasion and for the task of being hosts.
The schools will take on the roles of ambassadors of the 53 countries represented in the UEFA and will deal with and learn about various aspects of intercultural dialogue and will compete for the European champion title according to the Fair Play rules in teams of girls and boys. Using football as a means of education and learning EUROSCHOOLS 2008 offers a year of exciting encounters and experiences for football-loving youths.
